In the main event, La Bandida defeated Xtreme Girl for her mask in a match also featuring Hija De Karonte, Lady Jaguar, Angelica, Lady Maravilla & Lady Puma. -On WWE Smackdown that aired this past Friday April 20th taped from London, England's O2 Arena, Antonio Cesaro debuted in a backstage skit as Aksana's "old friend" going in to a meeting with GM John Laurinatis. Earlier, NXT's Titus O'Neill & Darren Young were denied a meeting, instead put in a match against The Usos, which they won in 3:35 via pinfall on Jimmy Uso after a Hart Attack(Speaking of NXT, Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks were recently 'fired' from the show). Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez are also now officially on the Smackdown roster(Credit : 411mania).
-Also on Fri. April 20th from Cleveland, OH's IX Center, Bellator 66 aired live on MTV2. The debuting Malquel Falcao(30-4) defeated Vyacheslav Vasilevsky(16-2) via unanimous decision to advance to the finales of the Season 6 Middleweight tournament. Andreas Spang(8-1) also advanced to the finale by beating Brian Rogers(9-4) by TKO(punches) 3:34 in to round 2, but he was fined 20% of his fight purse($6,000 out of $30,000) for starting a scuffle after the fight when he was squared off with Falcao, whom he shoved. And in the main event, lightweight Eddie Alvarez(23-3) beat DREAM Lightweight Champion Shinya Aoki(30-6) 2:14 in to round 1 of their non-title match via TKO(punches). Alvarez has one fight left on his Bellator FC contract(Credit : MMAMania, MMAJunkie, ESPN).
-UFC 145 took place this past Saturday April 21st in Atlanta, GA's Philips Arena. Bantamweight Miguel Torres(40-5) lost his return fight to Michael McDonald(15-1) via KO (punches) in 3:18 of round 1. Chad Griggs(11-2) lost his debut fight to Travis Browne(13-0-1) by submission(arm-triangle), 2:29 in to round 1. The other heavyweight fight saw Ben Rothwell(8-3) knock out Brendan Schaub(32-8) 1:10 in to round 1 with punches. And in the main event, Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones(16-1) retained over Rashad Evans(17-2-1) via unanimous decision. Jones will next defend against Dan Henderson(29-8).
-Also on Sat. April 21st, the VILLANO show in Mexico's Arena Neza saw the main event of Atlantis, La Mascara & Blue Panther beat Villano IV, Villano V & Pirata Morgan(replacing Villano III) by disqualification. After the match, Villano IV took Atlantis' mask, which he ripped up during the match to cause the finish(Credit : The Cubs Fan).

-On Saturday April 14th at 2CW's event in Rome, NY's Kennedy Arena, Champion Brodie Lee relinquished the title, as he will be moving to Florida to perform in FCW as part of his WWE developmental deal. -Frank Mir(16-5) has officially replaced Alistair Overeem(36-11) in a title shot against Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos(14-1) at UFC 146, Saturday May 26th from Las Vegas, NV's MGM Grand Garden Arena. Mir was originally to face former champion Cain Velasquez(9-1) to determine the next contender, but his spot against Velasquez will now be filled by the debuting Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva(16-3). Silva was to have fought Roy Nelson(16-7) on this all-heavyweight pay-per-view. Overeem claims his recent raised testosterone levels were due to a prescribed anti-inflammatory medication "mixed with testosterone" given to him by his doctor due to Overeem aggravating an old rib injury on his left side. Overeem claimed to be unaware testosterone was an ingredient.
-The premiere event of Showcase Championship Wrestling takes place Saturday June 9th, in Queens, NY's St. Margaret's School in Middle Village, featuring Marty Jannetty Vs. Stevie Richards and Perry Saturn Vs. Danny Doring in the double main event. Also scheduled to appear are Little Guido, Matt Bourne, Chris Harris and more.
-Heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko(33-4) will face Pedro "The Rock" Rizzo(19-9) in St. Petersburg, Russia's Ice Palace on Friday June 22nd.

Ryback(the former Skip Sheffield, who returned to TV on Smackdown a week earlier by defeating Barry Stevens) defeating Benny Camer in 0:34 via pinfall after a Samoan Drop. The first promo for the debuting Damien Sandow aired, Hacksaw Jim Duggan lost to WWE Tag Team Champion Hunico in 1:01 via disqualification when he hit Huncio with a 2x4, and in the main event, "Mean" Gene Okerlund won his second ever WWE match when he & World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan & Alberto Del Rio in 3:24 when Sheamus pinned Bryan after a Brogue Kick. -The opening round of Pro Wrestling NOAH's Global Tag League 2012 happened Wednesday April 11th at Japan's Tokyo Korakuen Hall. Atsushi Aoki beat Zack Sabre, Jr. in 8:57 via submission in an armbar. In the first round of the tournament, Daichi Hashimoto & ZERO-1's Shinjiro Otani defeated Eddie Edwards & NWA World Heavyweight Champion Colt Cabana in 13:25 when Otani used a Throwing Dragon Suplex on Edwards. And in the main event, GHC Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Morishima & GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion Katsuhiko Nakajima beat Naomichi Marufuji & Mohammed Yone in 16:25 when Morishima pinned Yone after a Backdrop Driver.
-Friday The 13th brought good luck to bantamweight Eduardo Dantas(14-2), as he defeated Champion Zach Makovsky(14-3) by technical submission in a arm-triangle choke 3:26 in to round 2 of the main event of Bellator 65, this past Friday April 13th from Atlantic City, NJ's Boardwalk Hall, live on MTV2. The show was supposed to feature a defense by Heavyweight Champion Cole Konrad(8-0) against Eric Prindle(7-1), but the title fight was delayed until Bellator 70 on May 25th from New Orleans, LA's Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, due to Prindle suffering a hand injury(Credit : MMAJunkie).
-Pro Wrestling Superstars(PWS)' WrestleReunion event took place Saturday April 14th from the Toronto, ON, Canada's Doubletree Airport Hotel. El Generico beat Michael Elgin via pinfall, Tito Santana pinned Shawn Spears, The Super Smash Bro.s defeated The Great Outdoors(Grizzly Redwood & Jake Manning), Asylum & Adam Page, and Rhett Titus & Caleb Konley in a 4-way tag team match, Harry Smith pinned Fit Finlay, Vader pinned The Necro Butcher, Shane Douglas & Domnic DeNucci beat Shawn Blanchard & Lord Zoltan via pinfall, Roderick Strong pinned Jushin "Thunder" Liger, and in the main event, Tommy Dreamer & Rhino beat Raven & C.W. Anderson via pinfall. April 14th, All Japan's 40th Anniversary tour contented with 'GROWIN'UP' from Tokyo, JP's Differ Ariake, featuring the finals of the Junior Heavyweight Tag League, won by Kaz Hayashi & Shuji Kondo, who defeated BUSHI & SUSHI in 16:10 when Kondo used the King Kong Lariat on SUSHi to set up the pinfall(Credit : Puroresu Spirit).
-UFC debuted in Stockholm, Sweden this past Sat. April 14th at the Ericsson Globe Arena for UFC on FUEL TV 2, featuring light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson(14-1) getting the nod over Thiago Silva(14-3) in the main event via unanimous decision. Also, middleweight Brian Stann(12-4) KO'd Alessio Sakara(15-9, 1 NC) via punches 2:26 in to round 1.
-Continuing on Sat. April 14th, JAPW's 14th Anniversary event took place from Rahway, NJ's Rec Center. Mia Yim beat Kimber Lee. Homicide & Chikara Grand Champion Eddie Kingston won the vacant Tag Team titles by defeating Philly's Most Wanted(BLK Jeez & Joker), and in the main event, Dan Maff won the vacant Heavyweight title by beating Low Ki(Credit : wrestling-news).
-Even more on Sat. April 14th was CZW's Best Of The Best 2012 iPPV from Vorhees, NJ's Flyers Skate Zone. -TNA's Lockdown 2012 emanated from Nashville, TN's Municipal Auditorium this past Sunday April 15th. In the opening match, Garrett Bischoff won Lethal Lockdown for his team of AJ Styles, Mr. Anderson, Rob Van Dam & X Champion Austin Aries when he pinned his father Eric in 26:10 after an El Kabong(Eric Bischoff's team consisted of Christopher Daniels, Kazarian, Bully Ray & Gunner). Tag Team Champions Samoa Joe & Magnus defended their titles successfully against The Motor City Machine Guns in 11:20 via pinfall. TV Champion Devon also defended his belt against Robbie E. in 3:25 by pinfall after a spinebuster. Knockouts Champion Gail Kim kept the theme of champions retaining going, pinning Velvet Sky in 7:30 with a roll up. Jeff Hardy defeated Kurt Angle in 14:52 via pinfall after a Swanton Bomb off the top of the cage(Angle tore his hamstring the previous week, injuring his MCL with a partial tear & causing him to pull out of participating in the upcoming U.S. Olympic Trials. He wrestled through his injury on this show). Knockouts Tag Team Champions ODB & Eric Young also kept their belts against Mexican America(Sarita & Rosita) when ODB pinned Rosita in 4:17 after a Death Valley Driver(ODB & Young were 'married' during the previous Impact Wrestling on Thursday April 12th). And in the main event, World Heavyweight Champion Robert Roode kept the title against former Beer Money, Inc. partner James Storm when Storm superkicked Roode out of the cage to the floor in 19:01(Storm will be taking off time to heal up some nagging injuries). Before the show, TNA took donations in a food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee(Credit : 411mania).

-The launch of the non-profit organization registered in Sweden, the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation(IMMAF), was announced on Thursday April 12th. The IMAAF's purpose is to be "a democratic body to organize & drive the development of the sport on a worldwide basis…to further the development & recognition of the sport of mixed martial arts, enabling international competition through the organization of national MMA federations around the world". Seeking a "full membership" in SportAccord, the goals are to see consistent application of rule sets & safety measures, and eventually get MMA to be recognized as an Olympic sport. UFC executive Marshall Zelaznik says Zuffa is behind the IMMAF & supports their work. Officials in the IMMAF had been working in Sweden to make the sport legal, resulting in UFC's first event there this past Saturday, and the Swedish MMA Federation has sent an application to join the IMAAF.
-The California State Athletic Commission(CSAC) voted on Monday April 9th to approve an amendment that allows Therapeutic Use Exemptions(TUE) for combat sports' athletes who use currently-banned drugs for medical purposes, including marijuana & testosterone. The verbiage must be approved by the Department Of Consumer Affairs first, then the state's Office OF Administrative Law if is to be passed and adopted into state law. The amendment states the exception will only apply to "medication needed to maintain health….not (to) obtain an unfair advantage over an opponent during a match." The TUE applicant would be responsible for all costs related to tests & medical evaluations that might be requested for approval, and asked to provide blood tests first 30 days prior to a bout, then after the fight, to ensure levels were within acceptable margins. Also that day, an endocrinologist was added to the CSAC medical advisory board, and the CSAC voted unanimously to exclude two asthma medications(salmeterol & salbutamol) from it's prohibited substance list(Credit : Sports Illustrated).
-The Bella twins will be leaving WWE after their contracts expire on Monday April 30th. Also, Traci Brooks has left TNA(Credit : pwinsider).
-MEXPW has changed the name of the promotion to MEXPRO after being threatened with a potential lawsuit by XEG/XTV/Rick Mahr & Associates, who own the trademarks for XPW. The first show under the new name was 'Cease & Resist' this past Saturday April 14th in Los Angeles, CA's MEXPRO Arena.
-Stone Cold Steve Austin's Broken Skull Ranch in McMullen County, TX suffered damage due to tornadoes the other week(Credit : TMZ).
-Scotty Riggs, who is recovering from pneumonia, is having surgery this week to remove a 90% non-cancerous mass in his gall bladder. It was discovered when he was recently hospitalized for stomach ulcers(Credit : 411mania).
-Maven Huffman plans to use WWE's Former Talent Rehab Program for prescription drug addiction. His attorney James Flynn adds that Maven "intends to cooperate with local law enforcement agencies to reach a timely resolution" to his arrest last month for wrongfully obtaining painkillers(Credit : TMZ).
-Scott Hall was arrested Friday April 6th in Seminole County, FL at 9:31pm on domestic battery charges after his girlfriend Lisa Howell reported to police that Hall attacked her, though she is refusing to press charges. Howell had called police at 5:00pm, telling them Hall had been drinking for days, they had argued, and when she got in her car to leave, she claims Hall grabbed her by the throat and tried to pull her out of the car. Though she had red marks around her neck when police arrived, Hall denied doing anything violent. Hall was first taken in two sets of handcuffs to a nearby hospital to get medical clearance when the jail refused to book him because he was too drunk. When cleared, he was booked on a domestic violence charge at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility(Credit : TMZ, Florida Arrests, lords of pain).
-Former Bellator FC/M-1 Global light heavyweight Raphael Davis(12-2) was arrested by District Attorney investigators at 9:00am, Tuesday morning, April 10th in Lomita, CA, charged with four felony counts of insurance fraud. Held on $30,000, Davis - a Los Angeles City firefighter - made false claims for worker's compensation on filings between Dec. 2, 2008 & May 20, 2011. -Hulk Hogan sold his 1. acres, 17,000 square foot Bellair, FL home along the Intracoastal Waterway, five years after putting it on the market, for $6.2 million cash to America II Electronics CEO Michael Galinski(Credit : Tampa Bay Times).
-Nigel McGuinness raised $48,972 via Kickstarter to fund the documentary of his retirement tour.

The Maximo brothers, plus Alex Payne takes on Angel Ortiz in a '5 Star' qualifying match. The next day, Saturday April 21st, Payne wrestles for NWA Force-1 at the Hammonton, NJ Rollway Skate Rink.
-TAJIRI's new promotion, Wrestling New Classic(WNC), holds their first event Thursday April 26th at japan's Shinjuku FACE.
-WSU holds the J-Cup Double DVD taping at Deer Park, NY's NYWC Sportatorium on Saturday April 28th. Champion Jessicka Havok defends against Mercdes Martinez, and Jenny Rose will wrestle as well.
-Brock Lesnar's return match for WWE takes places Sunday April 29th in Chicago, IL's Allstate Arena, as he faces John Cena in an Extreme Rules match. Also at Extreme Rules 2012, WWE Champion CM Punk defends against Chris Jericho in a Chicago Street Fight, and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus defends against Daniel Bryan in a 2/3 Falls match.

-This past Sunday April 1st, WWE WrestleMania 28 took place from Miami Gardens, FL's Sun Life Stadium. Before the pay-per-view began, WWE Tag Team Champions Primo & Epico retained their titles in 5:11 of a three-way with Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd and The Usos. In the opener, World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan lost the title to Sheamus in 0:18 via pinfall after a Brogue Kick, making Sheamus a 3-time World Champion in winning his first World Heavyweight title. Though the match fell short of the record for shortest title match in WM history(still held by WrestleMania 24's ECW Championship loss by Chavo Guerrero, Jr. to Kane via pinfall after a chokeslam in 8 seconds) like WWE reportedly intended for it to be, it was the shortest opening match in WM history. Kane defeated Randy Orton by pinfall via second rope chokeslam in 10:56. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes lost his title to The Big Show via pinfall after a WMD in 05:18 to win his first IC title. In doing so, Big Show set a record for holding every active (male) WWE title, and also became the second man(along with Bret Hart) to hold both the old WWF Triple Crown & WCW Triple Crown. Maria Menounos won her second wrestling match - with the same finish(schoolgirling the champ) - as her & Kelly Kelly defeated Divas Champion Beth Phoenix & Eve in 6:49 via pinfall when Menounos pinned Phoenix. The Undertaker kept his WM streak going at 20-0 when he pinned Triple H in their Hell In A Cell match at 30:52 when special referee Shawn Michaels made the count for a pinfall after a Tombstone piledriver. John Laurinatis became the General Manager for all WWE when his team of Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Dolphi Ziggler & captain David Otunga defeated Teddy Long's team of Booker T, The Great Khali, R-Truth, Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston & captain US Champion Santino Marella in 10:38 via pinfall when The Miz covered Ryder after a Skull Crushing Finale. After the match, Eve turned on Ryder by kicking him in the balls. WWE Champion CM Punk retained over Chris Jericho via submission to an Anaconda Vice in 22:21, ending a match with the last-minute stipulation added by GM Laurinatis that the title could change hands on disqualification. And in the main event, The Rock pinned John Cena in 30:34 after a Rock Bottom. A bad story after the event, though, was the death of Stephen A. Arceneaux, III, a 24-year-old man in New Orleans, LA, who was choked to death by his 14-year-old cousin on an inflated mattress on the floor of a Murray Hill Drive home, wrestling in front of friends while they were watching the PPV. After being put in a rear naked choke by the juvenile for 30-40 seconds, Arceneaux turned blue & stopped breathing. -Another big pro wrestling event on Sun. April 1st was CMLL's 69th Anniversary Show in Mexico's Arena Coliseo. And in the last segment of the night, former WWE & UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar returned to F-5 John Cena. Lesnar had signed a 1-year, $5 million deal with the promotion a day earlier during WrestleMania 28. -The #1 contender for the UFC Heavyweight title, Alistair Overeem(36-11), failed a random pre-fight drug test conducted Tuesday March 27 after a press conference for his upcoming title shot against Champion Junior Dos Santos(14-1), Saturday May 26th in Las Vegas, NV's MGM Grand Garden Arena. Overeem's "A" sample was flagged for an elevated T/E ratio of 14-1(6-1 is the limit). Overeem retains the right to request the "B" sample, which, if negative, would make him eligible to get a fight license, something Overeem had yet to apply for following the expiration of his previous conditional license used for his Fri. -Judge Stefan Underhill last week dismissed a portion of Martha Hart's lawsuit against WWE & the McMahons alleging the company used the image & likeness of Owen Hart in videos and other materials without permission and despite Martha's objections. Judge Underhill ruled that WWE retained a right to Owen's non-WWE career but denied WWE's motion to dismiss a claim related to personal family photos while saying there was no evidence the McMahons knew about the photos' use. -A judge ruled Monday April 2nd in Brownsville, TX that previous testimony & the NWA responding to the court in Texas was enough for R. After WrestleMania, however, a new program currently being developed will be implemented in Stamford, CT.
-Strikeforce light heavyweight Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal(8-1, 1 NC) was suspended on Tuesday March 27th by a unanimous vote from the Nevada State Athletic Commission to suspend & fine him for a failed drug test after his Jan. 7th fight against Lorenz Larkin(he tested positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone, claiming he used the over-the-counter supplement S-Mass Lean Gainer not knowing it contained the drug, but he admitted not disclosing the usage on a pre-fight medical questionnaire). He was suspended 9 months from the date of the fight, fined 30% of his $80,000 'show' purse, he must surrender his $15,000 win bonus, and his victory has been changed to a No Contest. He must provide a clean drug test to reapply for a fight license in the state. -Tuesday March 13th, the first hearing in the lawsuit against the Pro Wrestling Organization LLC(parent company of the NWA) was held in Brownsville, TX. Alleging that the NWA committed insurance fraud with a policy that designated it covers gatherings for 100 people despite NWA events actually having much more people there, the suit(fled by NWA member R. Bruce Tharpe, seeking damages up to $49,000) also alleges that the NWA fraudulently coerced members to join the organization under the premise they'd be covered by the NWA's insurance. The court ordered that the NWA brand name must not be allowed to be sold, mortgaged or used as collateral during the case, and NWA attorney Reynaldo G. Garza III was granted a request to be removed from the case. -UFC returned to Japan for the first time in over 11 years as UFC 144 took place at the Saitama Super Arena Sunday February 26th. Bantamweight Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto(18-6, 1 NC) was stopped by Vaughn Lee(12-7-1) via submission 4:29 in to round 1, tapping out to an armbar. Lightweight Takanori Gomi(33-8, 1 NC) defeated Eiji Mitsuoka(18-8-2) via TKO(punches) in the second round. Lightweight Anthony Pettis(15-2) scored a perfect KO victory(via head kick) over Joe Lauzon(21-7). Welterweight Jake Shields(27-6-1) got a unanimous decision victory over Yoshihiro Akiyama(13-5, 2 NC) in Sexyama's first fight at that weight. Heavyweight Mark Hunt(15-7) bested Cheick Kongo(17-7-2) 2:11 into round 1 via TKO(punches). Light Heavyweight Ryan Bader(14-2) was given 20% of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson(32-10)'s purse automatically as Jackson came in 6 pounds over the weight limit. Though Jackson failed to make weight(citing a knee injury suffered in training preventing him from doing cardio as part of his preparation), the fight went on at catchweight, seeing Bader beat Jackson by unanimous decision(Jackson has since said he would fight once more for UFC then leave the promotion to fight elsewhere). The first ever flyweight(125 lbs) bout ended in controversy, however, as NSW(New South Wales) Commissioner Craig Waller wrongly tallied the judges' scorecards for the tournament semi-final between Ian McCall(11-2-1) & Demetrious Johnson(11-2-1), initially awarding the decision to Johnson when the bout was actually a draw & should have gone in to a Sudden Death 4th round. Now, the two will have to have a rematch, reportedly targeted for April.
