DEATHS :
-Ryze Woo(Justin W. Honeycutt), 30, a Florida indy wrestler, died
Saturday July 2nd after suffering severe traumatic injuries. He was
killed while working on the Star Flyer, a giant swing ride at Orlando,
FL's Magical Midway thrill park, struck by a counterweight and suspended
by a safety harness 50 feet off the ground, dangling for 45 minutes
before rescuers brought him down. The Department Of Agriculture &

-Dragon Gate held an event on Saturday June 18th from Hakata, Japan's
Hakata Starlanes featured YAMATO, Masato Yoshino & Gamma defeat
CIMA, BxB Hulk & Naruki Doi in the main event to win the vacant Open

-Hector Garza & Rey Bucanero Vs. Mr. Aguila & Black Abyss was
supposed to be the main event of Fight Star's event in Tlaxcala, MX's
Barrio La Santisima on Sunday June 19th, but all four men left the

-Dragon Gate's event the same day, Sun. June 19th, from Hakata Starlanes
once again saw Dragon Kid & PAC defeat Genki Horiguchi & Ryo
Saito to win the Open The Twin Gate Tag Team Championship(Credit :

-WWE Monday Night RAW from June 20th in Baltimore, MD's 1st Mariner
Arena was themed 'Power To The People', featuring voting on matches
& match stipulations, though the voting was messed up in several
matches due to technical issues. In addition, Divas Champion Brie Bella
lost the title to Kelly Kelly, who used a victory roll to pin Bella in
3:02 to win her first title(Credit : 411mania).
-New Japan's Thursday June 23rd event in Japan's Tokyo Differ Ariake saw
the finals of the J Sports Crown 6-Man Openweight Tag Team Tournament.
Apollo 555(Ryusuke Taguchi, Prince Devitt & Hirooki Goto) defeated
Bad Intentions & Jushin "Thunder" Liger in 13:50 when Goto used the
Shouten Kai on Anderson. Also, KUSHIDA beat TNA's Brian kendrick in 8:04
using the Midnight Express(Credit : Puroresu Fan).
-CZW's Tournament Of Death 2011 took place from Townsend, DE's Markland
Acres Farm. Masada defeated Masahi Takeda in the barbed wire roped
finals. Originally scheduled to perform that night, "The Ego" Robert
Anthony will be out of action for 6 months due to a torn quad(Credit :

-Ring Of Honor's Best In The World 2011 iPPV aired on GoFightLive,
Sunday June 26th from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, NY,
setting an iPPV buyrate record. Roundtable host
Eric Santamaria
co-hosted the pre-show with Kevin Kelly, during which the live audience
witnessed Generation Me return to ROH to take on Adam Cole & Kyle
O'Reilly. The Bravados interfered, causing Gen. Me to win by DQ. Jay
Lethal returned to ROH, defeating Mike Bennett in 9:44 with a pinfall
after the Lethal Injection, while Christopher Daniels wrestled his last
match in ROH for the time being, losing the TV title to El Generico in
19:26 via pinfall following a top rope Brainbuster. Rhino made his ROH
debut, losing to Homicide in 10:20 of their street fight, but Goring
Homicide through a table afterwards, causing a cracked rib.
Kevin Steen returned to ROH before Steve Corino's match with Michael
Elgin, being forced to leave, returning after the match, turning on
Corino, attacking Jimmy Jacobs as well, and being thrown out of the
building by security before being 'banned' from ROH. And in the main
event, Davey Richards defeated ROH World Champion Eddie Edwards in 36:00
via pinfall following a kick to the face to claim the title(Credit :

-Also on Sun. June 26th, UFC's first event in Pittsburgh, PA, 'UFC On
Versus 4', emanated from the Consol Energy Center, and featured
heavyweight Cheick Kongo(16-6-2) get a stunning KO victory over Pat
Barry(6-3) 2:39 in to round 1. Welterweight Rick Story(13-4), originally
set to main event against Nate Marquardt(31-10-2), instead faced
Charlie Brenneman(14-2), who replaced Marquardt after Nate was fired
from UFC one day before the show due to not getting medical clearance
from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission and being indefinitely
suspended for testosterone levels exceeding the allowable limits(While
Marquardt says the levels were caused in part by restarting
testosterone-replacement therapy, the PSAC will decide on his suspension
Wednesday July 13th). Brenneman would nab a unanimous decision victory.
Also, heavyweight Matt Mitrione(5-0) continued his undefeated streak
with a 1st round KO win with punches over Christian Morecraft(7-2), 4:28

-Ring Of Honor got mentioned by CM Punk during WWE Monday Night RAW on
the USA Network the day after, Monday June 27th from Las Vegas, NV's
Thomas & Mack Center. Ending the show guest hosted by Shawn Michaels

shoot promo, leading to a storyline suspension.
-DDT's 'Dick Togo Local Retirement Show - Ikizama' took place on
Thursday June 30th from Tokyo, Japan's Korakuen Hall. In his last match
in Japan before retiring, Dick Togo defeated Gedo 25:23 in to the main
event via pinfall following a diving senton. Also, TAKA Michinoku &
The Great Sasuke beat Jado & Antonio Honda in 16:59 when Sasuke used

-Also on Thurs. June 30th, TNA's Impact Wrestling, taped from Orlando,
FL's Impact Zone, featured three men return to the promotion in an
X-Division Showcase three way, which saw Low Ki defeat Matt Bentley and
Jimmy Yang in 6:40, using a Warrior's Way on Yang to score the pinfall.
In the main event, TNA Champion Sting defeated Scott Steiner(who,
earlier in the night, joined Immortal) in 4:40 via pinfall after a

-UFC 132 took place Saturday July 2nd from Las Vegas, NV's MGM Grand
Garden Arena. Welterweight Carlos Condit(27-5) ended Dong Hyun
Kim(14-1-1, 1 NC)'s undefeated streak with a flying knee KO 2:58 in to
round 1. Light Heavyweight Tito Ortiz(16-8-1) saved his job with a 1st
round submission victory over Ryan Bader(12-2), tapping him to a
guillotine choke. Middlweight Chris Leben(26-7) knocked out the
returning Wanderlei Silva(33-11-1, 1 NC) in 0:27 of the 1st round with
punches. And in the main event, Dominick Cruz(18-1) retained against
Urijah Faber(25-5) via unanimous decision in the first ever UFC
Bantamweight title bout.

-MMA heavyweight Brett Rogers(11-3) was arrested in Apple Valley, MN on
felonious third-degree-asault, domestic assault by strangulation &
pattern of stalking conduct charges, along with an endangerment of a
child misdemeanor on Wednesday June 29th, following an alleged
altercation with his wife earlier in the night where he strangled and
punched his wife in the face & head. She lost a tooth and suffered a
golf ball sized wound on her face along with smaller wounds in addition
to blacking out from being choked. While he admitted to drinking
earlier in the night, he also claimed his wife struck him first, and
bail was set at $100,000 the day of his arrest. He was also released

-AAA luchador Charly Manson was arrested in Tizayuca, Mexico on Thursday

-Scott Hall checked himself in to a Seminole County, Florida jail this

FL's Impact Wrestling Zone. Douglas Williams faced British indy wrestler
Mark Haskins, making his TNA debut, and won in 7:43 via roll up
pinfall. Eric Young teamed with Shark Boy to defeat Generation Me(whom

9:11 by a pinfall after Scorpion Death Drop, giving Sting his fourth TNA

-FEG presented DREAM: Japan GP Final on Saturday July 16th from Tokyo,
Japan's Ariake Coliseum. Hideo Tokoro(30-23-1) beat Masakazu
Imanari(23-9-2) via unanimous decision in the finals to win the Japan
Bantamweight Grand Prix 2011. Also, Featherweight Champion Hiroyuki
Takaya(16-9-1) defeated Kazuyuki Miyata(11-8) by split decision. DREAM
is now expected to crown their first Bantamweight Champion in September
during DREAM 17's expected 8-man tournament, and 'Dynamite!! 2011' is

-WWE's Money In The Bank 2011 took place from Rosemont, IL's Allstate
Arena on Sunday July 17th. Daniel Bryan took Smackdown's MITB briefcase
in 24:27, outstaying Sheamus, Kane, Cody Rhodes, Justin Gabriel, Health
Slater, Wade Barrett & Sin Cara(who, 'injured' in the match by
Sheamus by taking a powerbomb off the apron through a ladder, will be
out 'at least 4 weeks' according to WWE.com). Divas Champion Kelly Kelly
made her first successful PPV defense of her title, beating Brie Bella
in 4:54 via pinfall after a K2. Mark Henry defeated The Big Show in 5:56
by pinfall following Vader Bombs, putting Show out '6-8 weeks'
according to their website. Alberto Del Rio won RAW's MITB in 15:54 over
Rey Mysterio(who was unmasked by Del Rio at the end of the match), Kofi
Kingston, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, R-Truth, Alex Riley and The Miz.
Christian re-claimed the World Heavyweight title from Champion Randy
Orton in 12:21 due to special match stipulations stating that the title
could change hands on a disqualification caused by a Punt, which is what
Orton did to lose the title, making Christian a 2-time World
Heavyweight Champion and a 6-time World Champion. And in the main event,
WWE Champion John Cena lost the title to CM Punk in 33:44 via pinfall
following a Go To Sleep, giving Punk his first WWE Championship on his
last contractual night in the promotion, his 5th World title, and making
him not only a Triple Crown Champion, but also one of three men to have

-New Japan presented a WPW PPV from Japan's Makomanai Sekisui Heim Ice
Arena on Monday July 18th. IWGP Intercontinental Champion MVP made his
first PPV defense of the title successful against Toru Yano in 12:03,
defeating Yano with the TTB. After the match, ZERO-1's Masato Tanaka
attacked MVP to start a program. In the main event, IWGP Heavyweight
Champion Hiroshi Tanahasi defeated IWGP Tag Team & GHC Heavyweight
Tag Team Champion Giant Bernard in 27:54 using a German suplex to retain

-On WWE's Monday Night RAW, last night from Green Bay, WI's Resch
Center, WWE CEO Vince McMahon proclaimed a new WWE Champion would be
crowned in an 8-man one night tournament, but before the finals between
Rey Mysterio and The Miz could start, McMahon postponed the match before
Triple H came out representing the Board of Directors to announce they
have appointed HHH to replace McMahon in the 'day-to-day' operations of

-On TNA's Impact Wrestling tonight, Mess Tessmacher & Tara defeat
Knockout Tag Team Champions Sarita & Rosita for the titles. D-Lo

pulled from the Heavyweight WGP tournament after he didn't accept a

-Results from 'Macho Man' Randy Savage's toxicology indicate Savage
tested positive for alcohol and the opiate hydrocodone but neither
played a role in his death as he had a 'cardiac event' moments before

DEATHS :
-J.T. Lightning(Jesse Hasse), 41, CAPW promoter/Cleveland indy wrestler,

-Rod Steele, former OVW Champion, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted wound.
RESULTS :
-CMLL on Monday August 1st at Mexico's Arena Puebla saw Rush defeat
Nobuo Yoshihashi in a 2/3 bout with Tirantes as the referee trying
helping Yoshihashi, but Yoshihashi had to shave his head after the loss.
Rush challenged Hiroshi Tanahashi after the match at next month's

-WSU on Saturday August 6th from Union City, NJ's ACE Arena saw Champion
Mercedes Martinez(who the promotion claims is the longest reigning
champion in the country as champion for 3 years) defeat Tag Champion
Lexus in 73 minutes, making it the longest womens match in wrestling
history.
-Also on Sat. Aug. 6th, UFC 133 emanated from Philadelphia, PA's Wells
Fargo Center. Light Heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson(12-1) defeated Matt
Hamill(10-4) via TKO(punches/elbows) in 3:34 of round 2(Hamill
announced his retirement this week). Welterweight Brian
Ebersole(48-14-1, 1 NC) was granted a $70,000 bonus for his 4:28 1st
round TKO victory(punches) over Dennis Hallman(50-14-2, 1 NC) due to
Hallman wearing speedo-styled shorts, which UFC President Dana White
banned afterwards. Middleweight Vitor Belfort(20-9) quickly defeated
Yoshihiro Akiyama(13-4, 2 NC) by KO 1:52 in to round 1, with it being
intimated by White that Akiyama must drop to Welterweight(170 lbs.) or
face being released. And in the main event, light heavyweight Rashad
Evans(16-1-1) earned a title shot against the winner of Rampage/Jon
Jones with a victory over Tito Ortiz(16-9-1), scoring a TKO(punches
after a knee) in 4:48 of the second round. Due to a right hand injury
suffered with the first overhand right he threw, Evans subsequently had
three pins surgically inserted for a fractured thumb but will be back in

-TNA's HardCORE Justice 2011 took place Sunday August 7th from the
Impact Wrestling Zone in Orlando, FL. X Champion Brian Kendrick won a
three-way with Austin Aries & Alex Shelley when he pinned Shelley in
12:58 following a Sliced Bread #2. Knockouts Tag Team Champions Tara
& Miss Tessmacher also retained their belts over Mexican America's
Rosita & Sarita in 6:12 when Tara pinned Rosita after a Widow's
Peak. Winter won her first Knockouts title when she pinned Champion
Mickie James in 8:54 after misting her eyes. And in the main event, Kurt
Angle became a 5-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion when he defeated
Champion Sting in the main event in 15:00 via pinfall following an Angle
Slam on a chair supplied by Hulk Hogan, making Angle an 11-time World

-WWE released Melina Perez, DH Smith, Vladimir Kozlov & Chris
Masters on Friday August 5th, with Gail Kim tweeting that she quit the
promotion on Monday August 1st. Australian female wrestler Tenille Tayla
of Lance Storm's Wrestling Academy was signed to a developmental deal,
however. She is expected to join FCW next year, where 6'10 Colin Cassady
from Queens, NY recently debuted and Ariana Andrew has been renamed
Cameron Lynn(Credit : WGN).
-Zuffa released Strikeforce womens bantamweight Marloes Coenen(19-5),
Strikeforce heavyweight Valentijn Overeem(31-29) and UFC heavyweight Jon
Olav Einemo(6-2), all from the Golden Glory team due to refusing to
reshape the pay structure of their fighters' deals(wherein the promotion
pays manager Martijn De Jong rather than the fighters being paid
directly as Zuffa does in UFC). Yahoo! Sports writer Steve Cofield
claims Zuffa will cut heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov(18-4) whether he
wins Strikeforce's World Grand Prix or not should the Golden Glory pay
policy remain. Zuffa also fired featherweight Joe "Daddy"

-99-year old Sensei Keiko Fukuda of San Francisco, CA, just two days
before her 100th birthday, became the first woman to earn a 10th-degree

achieve the honor when she was younger due to the sexism of women not
being granted honors previously. She is now one of four living people to

Greg Valentine pinned Tito Santana in 3:43 of a steel cage match. Zach
Gowen won a 15-man gauntlet-style battle royal in 28:44, last
eliminating Viscera. The Rock 'N Roll Express defeated The Midnight
Express(Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) in 0:33 with a
pinfall following a double dropkick. Bob Backlund beat Ken Patera in
6:12 with a roll-up pin. Scott Hall did not wrestle as advertised, with

-NJPW's pay-per-view, airing on WPW from Japan's Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan
on Sunday August 14th, saw the finals of the G1 Climax tournament, in
which Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Tetsuya Naito in 20:19 with a Boma Ye.
Also, IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Apollo 55 defended their
belts against The Golden Lovers in 15:01, at which point Devitt pinned
Omega following a Black Sunday(Credit : Puroresu Fan).
-WWE's SummerSlam 2011 PPV was also presented on Sun. Aug. 14th from The
Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Mark Henry defeated the newly-turned
babyface Sheamus by countout in 9:22 after a World's Strongest Slam
through the guard rail. Divas Champion Kelly Kelly defended her title
against Beth Phoenix, defeated her in 6:48 via pinfall with a roll-up.
Jimmy Hart made a cameo in a backstage skit with R-Truth, while World
Heavyweight Champion Christian lost the title to Randy Orton 23:48 in to
their No Holds Barred title match via pinfall following an RKO on the
ring steps set up in the ring. With his (WCW) World Heavyweight third
title reign, Orton is now a 9-time World Champion. In the main event, CM
Punk defeated WWE Champion John Cena in 24:14 by pinfall following a
GTS to win his second WWE Championship, making him a 6-time World
Champion. Though special referee Triple H did not see Cena's foot on the
ropes during the pin, his reign wasn't to last as Kevin Nash returned
mid-ring, nailing Punk with a big boot & Jackknife, allowing Alberto
Del Rio to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase and pinning Punk in 5
seconds after a kneeling enziguri to become the first Mexican WWE
Champion. At the event, WWE introduced WWE Live Commentary Radio, a
portable radio for purchase at the arena's merchandise stands for $15
that allow the listener to hear the TV commentary live that can also be
used as a traditional FM radio after the event is over and/or re-used at

-Lastly on Sun. Aug. 14th, UFC made their Wisconsin debut with 'UFC On
Versus 5' from Milwaukee's Bradley Center. Two lightweight bouts saw WEC
veterans Donald Cerrone(16-3, 1 NC) and Ben Henderson(14-2) take home
victories, Cerrone handing Charles Oliveira(14-2-1) a 1st round TKO loss
in 3:01, and Henderson ending Jim Miller(20-3)'s 7-fight win streak
with a unanimous decision win. And in the main event, one day after
announcing this will be his retirement fight, welterweight Chris
Lytle(31-18-5) scored a submission via guillotine choke on Dan
Hardy(23-10, 1 NC) 4:15 in to round 3. Harley Davidson, who announced a
multi-year sponsorship renewal with UFC the next day(which will include
promoting the next 'Hometown Throwdown' contest), presented a 2012 HD

-El Generico defeated Kevin Steen in the finals of PWG's 2011 Battle Of
Los Angeles tournament on Saturday August 20th from Reseda, CA's
American Legion Post. Steen had defeated the debuting Dave "Fit" Finlay
in the first round, tapping Finally to a Sharpshooter.
-As made official at a Los Angeles, CA press conference at 1pm this past
Thursday August 18th, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has signed a
7-year contract with the FOX Broadcasting Company. As part of the deal,
the UFC will present 4 live events per year on FOX(the first will be a
1-hour special Saturday November 12th at 9pm featuring two
to-be-announced bouts), and 8 live events per year on F/X, two of which
will be Ultimate Fighter Finales, as The Ultimate Fighter reality series
will air live every week on F/X with fans voting on fights for the next
week starting this spring on Friday nights with the series' first-ever
2-hour episode when the 15th season begins. F/X, along with FUEL TV,
will also feature programming such as Countdown, Primetime, Best Of
Pride FC, Unleashed, Knockouts, pre-&-post event shows(which will
also air on FUEL), and weigh-in specials. Though UFC will be handling
the production themselves, FOX is paying UFC $100 million per year under
the terms of the agreement and UFC will be overhauling all the
graphics/intro.s to signify their new era(Credit : USA Today,

-Matt Hardy was arrested on Saturday August 20th by North Carolina State
Highway Patrol Trooper B.J. Smith for suspicion of Driving While
Intoxicated after a trooper discovered his 2009 Corvette off the road
having struck a culvert pipe & a tree. Later released around 7:00pm
that night, Hardy also submitted a blood test. The already-suspended TNA
wrestler was fired by the promotion following the incident. Despite
claiming to have taken a breathalyzer on the sport and getting a 100%
clean result(Smith says Hardy had not been drinking but "appeared to
have taken some type of impairing substance"), Hardy is now scheduled to
appear in Moore County, NC court on Wednesday September 28th on charges
of Driving While Impaired & speeding. Hardy had also been involved
in a car crash the day before the arrest, Friday Aug. 19th, on U.S. 1 in
Southern Pines. Hardy was found inside his 2006 Cadillac which he had
crashed off the road in to a guard rail near South Bennett Street. Hardy
claims another car caused him to crash by running him off the road

-Bellator FC was about to sign featherweight Rasul Mirzaev(5-0), a
25-year old SAMBO World Champion, but the young prospect now faces 15
years in prison due to a bar fight. Mirzaev was detained &
questioned on Thursday August 18th regarding the death of an apparently
drunk 19-year-old student Ivan Agafonov, who Mirzaev punched outside a
Moscow, Russia nightclub after Agafonov allegedly was aggressive towards
Mirzaev's girlfriend, leading to a heated verbal exchange that ended in
the single strike. Agafonov fell, hitting his head on the sidewalk and
dying four days later at a hospital despite regaining consciousness
before being taken by friends the facility(he was made to wait a 'long
time' for treatment, allegedly did not receive the attention needed, and
fell out of a hospital bed after friends left to find a doctor, never
regaining consciousness). Mirzaev turned himself over to authorities
immediately upon hearing of Agafonov's death, being charged by The
Russian Federation of 'intentional infliction of serious bodily injure
that resulted in death', which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in

-Mistico resumed the role of Sin Cara this past weekend against Tyson
Kidd at Saturday August 20th's WWE's Smackdown house show in Tacoma, WA

-The 5-hour auctioning of 300 items from Walter "Killer" Kowalski's
estate on Thursday August 11th by TAC Auctions saw Triple H bid online
successfully on several items, including Kowaliski's first-ever

-"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff announced at the recent NWA Legends
Fanfest weekend(Aug. 4-7th in Atlanta, GA's Airport Marriott) that his

-Atlanta, GA police are investigating a claim by police officer Connie
Oliver(working for the security company Allied-Barton), alleging that
WWE wrestler Heath Slater, whom she was assigned to protect, assaulted

chokehold and attempting to drag her back to his room. Oliver claims to
have experienced back pains since the incident and didn't report the
attack until Wednesday June 22nd because her employer said they would

-UFC middleweight Jason "Mayhem" Miller(24-7, 1 NC) was arrested
recently after he allegedly put his sister in a headlock at a North
Carolina party when she wanted to leave, refusing to release the gripe.
After escaping, she called the Chatham County Sheriff, who arrested
Miller later that evening for assault & false imprisonment. Miller

-A Sony warehouse that housed & distributed TNA DVDs in the United
