-Two Mexican midget wrestlers, La Parkita(the indy version) & Espectrito II(performed by Roberto and Alejandro Mejia), were found dead in a hotel in Mexico City(Credit : Box Y Lucha). The two had entered the hotel located mere blocks from Arena Mexico with two women earlier in the night but their bodies were discovered alone by room service the next morning and Dave Meltzer says it's probably they were drugged & robbed by prostitutes.

-At The (Great American) Bash Sunday, Edge & Jericho won the WWE World Tag Team titles in an impromptu three way match with the Colons & Ted Dibiase Jr. and Cody Rhodes. This is Edge's 12th (World) Tag title reign, and Jericho's fourth. Rey Mysterio, Jr. also regained the Intercontinental title from Chris Jericho in a mask vs. title match, and Michelle McCool defeated Women's Champion Melina to become the first woman to win the Divas & Women's title.

-Having won the TNA Knockouts title from Angelina Love, Victoria/Tara is the second woman to win the WWE & TNA's women's titles(Gail Kim being the first).

-Bobby Lashley continued his undefeated streak in MMA, now at 4-0, by dominating veteran Bob Sapp(who did a Ric Flair entrance complete with 2001 theme & feathery robe) and tapping him to strikes(punches & elbows from half guard in this case, primarily punches) in mere minutes of the first round during their match Saturday.

-Former XPW owner/promoter Rob Zicari(Rob Black) & his wife Janet Romano(who performed in XPW as "Lizzie Borden") plead guilty in March to conspiring to distribute obscene materials(porn) across state lines & online(Credit : Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). They were sentenced to 366 days of prison with two years of supervised releases.

-WWE "reshuffled" their rosters in a storyline on RAW claiming Donald Trump made roster trades before 'selling RAW back' last week, as WWE continues to make shit up on the fly. The biggest consequences were for ECW, as all but two of their current top main eventers were sent to RAW and in return they got a lot of debuting FCW talent. And yes, I said "reshuffled" because we all know the brand split doesn't matter, and they just had the draft a few months ago anyway, so none of this makes much of a difference unless you're in FCW apparently.

-Brian Lawler(Brian Christopher) was sentenced to 30 days of rehab and a $50 fine after being arrested Friday morning for public intoxication outside a bar in Tennessee(Credit : WBBJ TV).

-Former UK 'American Gladiator' Inferno(Jemma Palmer) is said to have signed a WWE developmental deal (Diva-Dirt.com). WWE also signed Dameon Duke, Ray Leppan, former TNA ref/wrestler Shane Sewell, Mil Mascaras' nephew Sicodelico Jr.(Aaron Rodriquez) and Aaron Reed last week(Credit : WGN).

-Hustler Magazine was ruled by the 11th Circuit Court Of Appeals to have illegally published nude pictures of Nancy Benoit (taken in the early 80s) months after He Who We Do Not Speak Of's triple threat submission match in June of 07...to put it in terms those who still defend him might understand(Credit : Fox News). Nancy's family filed a suit against Hustler last year in an attempt to stop my fwapping.

-Larry Sweeney showed up unexpectedly and uninvited after Ring Of Honor's show in Chicago this past Saturday. Sweeney has been arrested four times in the past few months, lives on the streets, has lost lots of weight, looks unkempt & has lots of people worried over his health.

-First, Brian Blair claims he was defending his wife against his son, that's why he ended up in jail & he was released without charges. Then, everyone says WWE stock wasn't affected that much by the Trump 'fake buying RAW' angle & had nothing to do with WWE dropping the angle. Can't anyone make up their minds before they fuckin report things? Then again, seeing how much ridiculous and contradictory rumors are being reported STILL about Michael Jackson even in death, it shouldn't be surprising.

-Mike Judas, who was to play one of Mick Foley's new security guys, was arrested in Greenville, SC the other weekend for assaulting indy promoter Donovan Loftis in the locker room after Loftis supposedly talked shit about Judas on a message board(Credit : WGN). Firstly, take note all you Internet Tough Guys! Second, seems like more promoters need this sort of treatment.

-Jakks Pacific is saying they are going to exercise their option to renew their deal for an addition five years as part of their joint agreement with THQ to develop WWE video games that expires at the end of the year(Credit : Hamilton Avenue Journal/411mania). THQ says they are looking into filing an injunction against the extension.

-Warner Bros. made a bid on Midway, and with no other bidders, there will be no auction & they've bought Midway for $33 million(Credit : 411mania). TNA's video game license is not part of the sale, so Midway may produce the game themselves or release the game through a third party.

-This Saturday at UFC 100, Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar(3-1) faces Interim Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir(12-3) to unify the belts and crown an undisputed Heavyweght Champion. The host of The Wrestling Roundtable, Eric Santamaria, will be in attendance and plans on doing a video BLOG chronicling the trip for next week.

-Waldo Von Erich(Wally Seiber), 76, died Sunday night(Credit : Wrestling Observer). Waldo wrestled as the brother of Fritz Von Erich in the 50s & in the WWWF.

-On Monday, The Motor City Machie Guns lost the IWGP Jr. Tag Team titles to Prince Devitt & Ryusuke Taguch

-On his blog, Jim Ross said he was unsure of his contract status.

-This past Saturday at UFC 100, former NCAA & WWE Champion Brock Lesnar defeated Frank Mir via TKO in the second round of the main event to unify the UFC Heavyweight Title and the UFC Interim Heavyweight Title, becoming the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar, now 4-1, made tons of headlines in various media outlets covering UFC 100 for his victory, post-fight heel promo & heavily talked about dream match with WAMMA & Pride Heavyweight Champion, Fedor Emelianenko. Wrestling Roundtable host, Eric Santamaria, has a video BLOG about the trip to Las Vegas to see the historic show in the Video/Audio section.

-Bobby Lashley, 4-0, has finally officially signed a contract with TNA, presumably to wrestle(Credit : ESPN Radio).

-Takashi Matsunaga, 73, founder of All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling, died Saturday of pneumonia(Credit : Wrestling Observer).

-Seth Green(actor from Austin Powers, Airborne, etc.) main evented RAW in a 6-man tag with John Cena & HHH Vs. The Legacy. Green was RAW's guest GM for the night, and ZZ Top will be next week. Glad I watched MMA this weekend instead of this shit.

-This past Sunday, TNA Victory Road 2009 saw multiple title changes :
Angelina Love beat Tara(Victoria) to regain the Knockouts title.
Kevin Nash defeated AJ Styles(cleanly, I might add!) for the Legends title
Scott Steiner & Booker T beat Beer Money, Inc. for the Tag Team titles
Taz also debuted as Samoa Joe's mentor. I guess that means he's in the Main Event Mafia? Who fucking knows. Current X Division Champion Homicide's title victory over Suicide was aired this past Thursday.

-The big story about TNA this week though is that Jeff Jarrett was sent home by Dixie Carter(under the offical guise of taking a "personal leave of abscence") with rumors of it happening due to Karen Angle shacking up with Double J(Credit : Wrestling Observer). The rumor started on Bubba The Love Sponge's radio show last week when they took a call from an anonymous 'TNA employee' who claimed under voice distortion that the two were an item, as was rumored backstage for a while. Matt Morgan was scheduled to appear on the radio show the next day, but was pulled with the excuse of being "sick," which is of course probably bullshit. In addition, the story goes that Kurt Angle(who suffered a groin injury shooting a movie last week) was saying backstage at the TNA house show in Mississippi Saturday that he will not resign with TNA if Jarrett is brought back in the same position, and he wants booking control - essentially he'd have to be given Jarrett's job. His contract is up in September and there were already rumors he was leaving, so he'll probably end up doing just that.

-WWE filed a motion yesterday to dismiss Jody Hamilton's lawsuit over their closing of Deep South Wrestling(Credit : pwinsider).

-Former ROH Top Of The Class Trophy winner Dereck Dempsey won the 'intermediate no-gi superheavyweight' gold medal at the Grappler's Quest tournament on June 27th in Morristown, NJ, where Rodney Leconte, Eric Santamaria & Chris Harris of The Wrestling Roundtable were shooting for Rodney's upcoming documentary, The Grappling Kings.

-Next week's WWE RAW guest GM, Shaquille O'Neal, has told Dana White that he wants to fight current UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar(Credit : Yahoo Sports!). Dane told Shaq(who has been training at Gracie's Gym for 10 years in MMA, boxing, muay thai, jiu-jitsu & wrestling), "Win another NBA championship this year and then we'll talk next year." -Karl Von Brauner, 78, died on July 5th(Credit : Slam! Sports). The Von Brauners(Karl &  Kurt) were a German heel tag team in the 50s, and he also teamed with Al Costello as The Internationals in 60s Texas & Detroit.

-Memphis-based ring announcer Just Joe(not the former WWE wrestler) died several days ago(Credit : WGN).

-Marc Mero re-married in Florida on the same day his ex-wife Rena(Sable) watched her husband Brock Lesnar unify the UFC heavyweight titles, July 11th(Credit : WGN).

-Dennis Coralluzzo will be inducted in the NWA Hall Of Fame September 26th at the Coralluzzo Memorial Show in Wayne, NJ where Paul Orndorff will also be honored(Credit : pwinsider).

-Stacy Carter, formerly The Kat in WWE, will be the star of a new reality series(Credit : WGN).

-Vampiro broke his back after jumping out of his bedroom window July 7th ; The garage in his home located in Guadalajara, Mexico had been broken into by burglars. Backup police were called after a policeman noticed the broken garage door, but when they inspected the house, the only person they found was Vampiro sleeping in bed, who woke up, freaked out & cracked four vertebrae in addition to reinjuring two herniated discs in his neck upon his landing 15 feet down(Credit : WGN). He was hundcuffed but then uncuffed before being sent to a hospital. He doesn't require surgery and should be healthy again in three months.

-Bill Dundee and his son Jamie are currently touring with Clyde Beatty-Cole Brothers Circus(Credit : WGN). The former JC ice is performing as a clown.

-Elijah Burke recently underwent surgery after falling down the stairs at home(though what the surgery was on is unknown) and has said he is going back to school to pursue criminal justice.


Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 :

-This past Sunday at WWE Night Of Champions, there were multiple title changes, as has become the usual for WWE ppvs :
*Mickie James won the Divas title by defeating Maryse, becoming the second woman win the Divas & Women's title in WWE.
*Christian won his second ECW title(his fourth world title), beating Tommy Dreamer.
*Jeff Hardy won his third world title by winning the (WCW) World Heavyweight title for the second time, besting CM Punk in the main event and indicating he's committed to WWE through at least SummerSlam.
*Also, The Big Show has replaced Edge as Chris Jericho's World Tag Team Champion partner. The two will be defending the titles for now on.
*Dolph Ziggler is rumored to have been booked originally to win the IC title from Rey Mysterio, Jr., but Vince McMahon changed his mind before the PPV started.

-Damien Dothard, who trained at Dusty Rhodes' TCW & was under WWE developmental in 2006 as Damien Steele(not to be confused for the XPW wrestler of the same name), died last week of a brain aneurysm. He was in his early 30s.

-Anthony Roderick, 41, indy wrestler from Providence, RI, died on 7/18, with no further details available as of yet(Credit : WGN).

-"Whirlwind" Woodie Johnson, 80, New York wrestler in the 60s, died on 7/20( Credit : Greg Oliver).

-In one of the most significant MMA stories of the year, clothing company Affliction canceled their Trilogy PPV, scheduled for this Sat. Aug. 1st, after IGF pro wrestler & former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett tested positive for an anabolic substance for the third time in his career and therefore won't be licensed to fight in California. He was scheduled to fight WAMMA Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko in the main event. Affliction & Showtime(which was airing the PPV) couldn't find a suitable replacement in time from a numerous list of possibilities, which included Bobby Lashley(Lashley refused to even consider the fight). Instead, Affliction opted to cancel the show, and bowed out of promoting fighting altogether, returning as a sponsor of UFC. As such, Josh Barnett will be returning to Japan to wrestle for IGF, while the LA Times is reporting that Fedor has FINALLY signed with UFC. M-1 Global executive Apy Echteld denies the story completely.
Dana White has stated in the past that should Fedor sign with UFC, he'd be granted an immediate title shot against Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, in the dream match everyone's been talking about!

-Traci Brooks is the first TNA Knockout to make Playboy(while in TNA ; Christy Hemme might be posing once again and So Cal Val is also a possibility in the new TNA/Playboy relationship). Traci will be on the October 5th issue(Credit : UK Sun).

-An arbitrator has ruled Jakks Pacific is entitled to 6% of net sales of the Smackdown Vs. RAW video games from July 1, 2006 through Dec. 31, 2009 and will be receiving $34 million from THQ(Credit : Wrestling Observer).

-JBL has pulled out of sponsoring Danny Davis' VFL & OVW(Credit : WGN).

-American Original, a company founded by former WCW Hotline host Jeff Katz, signed a deal with TNA to help market TNA in the entertainment industry(Credit : Variety). The company is also working with Chris Bell on developing his steroid documentary 'Bigger, Stronger, Faster' in to a movie script and with Paul Heyman on a comic book.

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 :

-The biggest news in MMA this month happened days ago when Fedor Emelianenko signed a one-year, three-fight deal with StrikeForce that also included co-promotion with his M-1 Global company & is non-exclusive outside the US, which means he could theoretically also fight on the New Years Eve show put on by DREAM in Japan. UFC had offered more concessions to Fedor & his management than they have for any fighter ever in their existence, which included an immediate Heavyweight title shot against current Undisputed champion Brock Lesnar. They also offered a multi-fight, multi-million dollar deal, a percentage of PPV revenue from Fedor's fights to go to M-1 Global(who was also allowed to be advertised via logos on whatever items he wished) on top of Fedor's purse, and he would also be allowed to compete in sambo tournaments. The hold-up was M-1 demanded co-promotion with UFC for their shows, something UFC was unwilling to do but StrikeForce was. This puts the dream Fedor/Brock fight on hold for at least a year, if it ever happens.

-Blackjack Mulligan suffered a mild stroke this weekend. He had already pulled out of the NWA Legends convention in North Carolina early last week. Also, Japanese woman wrestler Dump Matsumoto was diagnosed with a terminal illness & told she had less than three years to live(Credit : WGN).

-Dutch Mantell(writer) & Savio Vega(agent) were fired from TNA last week, while Elijah Burke was signed.

-WWE fired referee Marty Elias and THE Brian Kendrick last week. Meanwhile, Brooke Hogan claimed in an interview with FoxNews.com that Vince Mcmahon asked her to join WWE but she turned the offer down.

-Mike Sydal, brother of Matt/Evan Bourne, debuted in FIP this weekend, where Jon Davis of the Dark City Fight Club made his comeback.

-Doug Williams & Brutus Magnus won the IWGP Tag Team titles from Team 3D in a tables match that aired this Thursday week on iMPACT!

-Rumor was New Japan disavowed Doug Williams & Brutus Magnus' IWGP Tag title win over Team 3D last week on TNA iMPACT!, saying it wasn't sanctioned & therefore the title switch didn't count, with Team 3D remaining the recognized champions. TNA put out a press in response to this that never quite said that NJPW approved of the title change itself.

-Ricky Ortiz was released by WWE last week, with Tony Atlas expected to be joining him soon.

-Two-time Olypmic wrestler & national champion Daniel Cormier is set to train for MMA as a light heavyweight(Credit : MMAJunkie).

-Harley Race claims in the Miami Herald that he is training female powerlifter Becca Swanson for wrestling.

-We finally got the outcome of the Brutus Beefcake/Bill Simmons celebrity boxing match several weeks ago ; The story according to the Wrestling Global Newsletter was that the fight was supposed to be a work, but Simmons shot on Beefcake with a legit 20 second knock out.

-Shelly Martinez stars in a low-budget horror/comedy, Porn Shoot Massacre(Credit : WGN).


Wednesday, August 19, 2009 :

-Current TNA World Champion Kurt Angle was arrested in Robinson Township in Pittsburgh, PA Saturday on multiple offenses :
*Driving with a suspended license(from his DUI appeal last year).
*"Prohibited Acts" for breaking a PFA('protection from abuse') order that his ex-girlfriend Rhaka Kahn(Trenesha Biggers) filed against him Saturday morning by driving her car in circles around the parking lot of a Starbucks while she was inside.
*"Prohibited acts possession" of two bottles of Hygetropin, or HGH(Human Growth Hormone), which were found along with capped syringes when her vehicle was searched.
His attorney, Michael Santicola, claims the situation to be a fabrication by Biggers, who was merely upset about their breakup, that there was no evidence for the PFA in the first place, and that she created the Starbucks situation unbeknownst to Angle, who was oblivious of her presence(Credit : WPIX). He also explained that Angle has a prescription for HGH, and "multiple people in the industry use it." Angle also claimed that Biggers took his car on Friday to file the restraining order & he had her cell phone. A tow truck was called for the vehicle (Biggers' silver Cadillac)  Angle was in while Biggers claims Angle was deleting pictures she took as evidence of her abuse from her phone.
Angle posted $10,000 bond Sunday, has a hearing set for September 15, defended the TNA World title as scheduled on the Hard Justice PPV on Sunday(during which, none of this situation, which has garnered much mainstream coverage, was acknowledged at all), and will host the Kurt Angle Ultimate Teen Challenge this Sunday. He also didn't make the cut for Dancing WIth The Stars this season. All TNA talent was told not to mention the situation anywhere.

-The Washington Post reports that Linda McMahon is considering a run for Connecticut Senator. She would have to step down as CEO of WWE with Vince assuming her duties. This remind anyone of The Omen? 

-Lisa Marie Varon(Tara/Victoria) is looking to start MMA next year via J.T. Stewart, Rich Franklin's manager, who has been in talks with several organizations about signing Varon, though they've been eyeing StrikeForce, who just broadcasted an event on Showtime to crown their first female lightweight champion when Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos,8-1, defeated Gina Carano, 7-1, in 4:59 of the first round(Credit : Dayton Daily News). It was the first MMA event to be headlined by a womens fight, and saw UFC counter-program on Spike TV with a special edition of UFC 100, headlined by former WWE champion Brock Lesnar unifying the Heavyweight titles against Frank Mir. Stewart says Varon is eyeing a fight with former UFC heavyweight Champion Randy Couture's ex-wife Kim, a fight Kim has said she'd take if Strikeforce were to put it together. Gina Carano will appear in Rodney Leconte's documentary, The Grappling Kings, when it is released in a few months.

-Karl Von Hess, 90, & Gladys "Killem" Gillem,  88, both died a week ago due to Alzheimer's disease. He wrestled in the 50s as a German heel while she wrestled for twenty years starting in 1942(Credit : WGN).

-Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore was released from WWE after only a few weeks back. Vic Adams, a developmental wrestler, was also released this week(Credit : WGN).

-Mistico defeated Tiger Mask this weekend in NJPW at the Sumo Hall in Tokyo to win the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title(Credit : Wrestling Observer). The next day in the same building, Togi Makabe defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the G-1 Climax tournament, and later, suffering from a broken orbital bone, Hiroshi Tenzan vacated the IWGP title, with Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Togi Makabe on September 27 in Kobe, Japan to determine the new champion.

-WGN reports that Jeff Jarrett is rumored to return to TNA eventually as a wrestler only, and that Simon Diamond(Pat Kenney) was offered his old agent job back but turned it down.

-Originally Mike Adamle, Floyd "Money" Mayweather will now host RAW this Monday in Las Vegas, after former WWE writer Freddie Prinze, Jr. hosted Monday. Stephanie McMahon claimed n Variety that guest hosts will continuously be named until possibly through WrestleMania 26 and listed the following as 'booked' for future hosts : Bob Barker, Al Sharpton, Pete Wenz, Nancy O'Dell, Ashlee Simpson, The Osbournes, Danny DeVito, Serena Williams, Woody Harrelson, MC Hammer, Rachel Ray, Jimmy Fallon, LeBron James, Ashton Kutcher, Regis Philbin & Kelly Ripa.

-Don West, who has been commentating TNA shows since the first one in 2002, was removed as an announcer and will be replaced by Taz. He has been given a role in the merchandize department.

-Daniel Puder won a unanimous decision victory over Mychal Clark on this Saturday's Call To Arms - Called Out Fights mma show in Ontario, CA.

-Sports & Entertainment Publications LLC, which is owned by Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, sold (back) Pro Wrestling Illustrated & The Wrestler/Inside Wrestling to Kappa Publishing.

-Shaquille O'Neal is being talked about for a return to WWE after the success of his guest hosting of RAW, probably for a match against The Big Show.

-Spike TV & TNA signed a new TV deal, a three-year extension of their partnership, which includes iMPACT! on Thursdays & a new original hour-long series of specials.

-Dr. Death Steve Williams' cancer has returned to his Stoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy(Credit : JRsbarbq.com). Also from Jim Ross' blog, Edge is expected back in time for WrestleMania 26, with others saying possibly as early as the Royal Rumble.

-WWE's Breaking Point PPV in September will feature submission matches for the 'main events' only, not the entire card(Credit : Wrestling Observer). I expect the same format for the Hell In The Cell PPV in October.

-The XPW reunion show is Saturday in California. Fuck XPW.

-Beverly Mullins, who had been wrestling as Wesley Holiday in FCW, debuted as backstage interviewer Courtney Taylor on ECW.

-Rumor : "talk" of Ric Flair returning to WWE again(Credit : WGN). Big whoop.

-Madusa(Debra Miceli) said in an interview with the Miami Herlad that WWE had called her to participate in the Diva Battle royal at WrestleMania 25 but was unable to attend.


Tuesday, August 25, 2009 :

-This past Sunday at SummerSlam, CM Punk became a 4-time world champion(3 if you don't count ECW, as WWE doesn't) by winning the (WCW) World title for the 3rd time against Jeff Hardy in the TLC main event, which also featured The Undertaker's 17th return this century.

-In the biggest ROH-to-WWE signing in years, Ring Of Honor announced former champion Bryan Danielson "has agreed in principle(what?)" to a contract with WWE. The American Dragon has appeared many times on the Wrestling Roundtable, and we hope to get some parting words with Danielson before he makes this next big step in life. PWinsider reported last week that WWE was looking to sign several ROH wrestlers, so this could be the first of many to come. In the meantime, ROH's entire tour for September will be dubbed the Final Countdown Tour as Danielson's farewell series of shows.

-In an interview with ThePittsburghChannel.com, Kurt Angle gave a very different side of the story than the cops who arrested him last week regarding what led to his arrest :
* He claims he's been trying to break up with Rhaka Kahn for a while, and she asked to use his car, which he lent her as she ended up driving to get a restraining order, after which the police came to his house & made him leave, so he took her car(with her phone in it), which she followed. He went looking for a hotel and just happened to pull up into the same parking lot of the Starbucks she was at, purely coincidentally, because it happened to be in the area of the hotel he was trying to get & he had no idea she was even there. Oh, and the HGH? It's two years old and he has a prescription.
Yup, sounds like bullshit.

-Bill DeMott(Hugh Morris) has opened a wrestling school just outside Atlanta, GA.

-In a story for the Los Angeles Times, Vince McMahon stated WWE was looking into starting their own cable network within two years. RAW would be staying on the USA Network in such a case.

-Apparently Macaulay Culkin made a cameo during Chavo Guerrero & Hornswaggle's match on RAW last week. Last night's RAW guest host, undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., 39-0, had his house searched earlier in the day in connection his car being at the scene of a skating rink shooting Sunday.
LeBron James is rumored to host RAW next week.

-Linda Bollea will be coming out with an autobiography next year(Credit : WGN).

-UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar's next opponent has been named, as he will be facing Shane Carwin, 11-0, at UFC 106 on November 21 in Las Vegas, NV. Carwin was originally scheduled to face fellow undefeated prospect Cain Velasquez, 6-0, but UFC wanted Lesnar, 4-1, to fight as soon as possible due to his notoriety after UFC 100.

-Samoa Joe became a 4-time TNA X Champion at Hard Justice a week and a half ago, defeating Homicide.

-Ricky Steamboat, Sr. & Jr. tag teamed this weekend in WWC against Orlando Colon and Hiram Tua(Credit : WGN).
